Food::Dinner @ Shakey's San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte

        Right after Manila, we were off to Laoag City.  Danii and Dylan were very excited to meet their grandma and grandpa again.  It has been more than 3 years since the last time they visited us in the U.S.  We left Manila at night and arrived in Laoag City the following morning.  We were greeted with a breakfast of "yosi" (pork tenderloin stew with chives) and Lee's native "longganisa" (pork sausage).  I was surprised that Lee's longganisa tasted like Nana Tin's.  When I was a kid growing up in Manila, we had this neighbor who was an old lady from Ilocos that sells native longganisa which was a favorite of mine.  After that lady passed away, it seemed that nobody in her family got to learn her recipe.  I was very glad that Lee's recipe brought back my childhood memories of Nana Tin's longganisa.

        The following night, Dinah and I were craving for some Shakey's thin crust pizza and Chick N' Chips so the whole family went to San Nicolas where one can find the only Shakey's pizza parlor in Ilocos Norte.

        Tintin, Lee's wife suggested we get the Monster Meal Deal which included a large Manager’s Choice pizza, a large Pepperoni Thin Crust Pizza, Classic Spaghetti and Carbonara Supreme Platter, 12 pieces Chick ‘N Chips Party Pack and 3 pitchers of ice-cold soda.

        It was true that the San Nicolas Shakey's branch was the only one in Ilocos Norte but we were glad that San Nicolas was very near Laoag City.  Here, we needed to drive more than a hundred miles just to get to the nearest Shakey's branch in Oroville, CA.
